Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
The short version: KickEats stores the recipes you save and the account you sign in with, so they follow you between devices. We do not sell your data, run ads, or use third-party tracking. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings at any time.
Who we are
KickEats ("the app", "the Service") is made by Codenoodle ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. From the provider we receive your name, your email address and a stable account identifier; Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one. We use these only to create your account, sign you in and answer support requests. We never see your password.
Your recipes
Everything you add to your library is stored on our servers and synced to your devices: recipe titles, ingredients, steps, notes, cover photos, your serving and calorie settings, and the ingredients you create yourself. When you import a recipe from a link, we fetch that page or post on our servers to extract the recipe. When you scan a cookbook page or add a photo, the image is uploaded so it can be read and stored as the recipe's cover.
Recipe text and images are processed by AI models to turn them into structured ingredients, steps and nutrition estimates. For that we use third-party model providers, who receive the recipe content but not your name or email, and who are contractually restricted from using it to train their models.
Your library is private by default. A recipe becomes visible to others only when you share its link or publish it to the public directory; you can stop sharing at any time.
Photos and camera
The app asks for camera or photo access only when you choose to scan a page or pick a cover image. It uses the specific images you select and never reads the rest of your photo library.
Notifications
Cooking timers use local notifications and, on supported devices, system alarms and Live Activities. These are scheduled on your device; timer alerts do not pass through our servers.
What we do not collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Payment details — we currently sell nothing in the app
- Advertising identifiers, device fingerprints or tracking cookies
The app contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics. Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous App Store statistics that cannot identify you.
Where your data lives
Recipes and account data are held in our own database; images are stored with Cloudflare. Sign-in is handled through Apple and Google. Recipe links are fetched through our own scraping workers. We take reasonable technical measures to protect this data, but no system is perfectly secure.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your account, your library, your uploaded images and anything you published to the directory. Deletion is immediate in the app and completes on our servers within thirty days; backups age out after that. Recipes other people have already saved from your public link keep their own copy.
Public recipe pages
Public recipe pages on this website show the recipe as you shared it, with the creator credit you saved. Nutrition figures are estimates computed from an ingredient database and should not be relied on for medical purposes. If a recipe of yours has been published without your consent, email us with the link and we will take it down.
This website
kickeats.com sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request in order to serve the font files.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can see and edit everything we hold about you inside the app, export any recipe by sharing it, and delete it all from Settings. If you would like a copy of your data in another form, or want us to delete support correspondence, email us and we will do it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date. Continued use of the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
